We have a collection of 350 antique and new chisels making the process of carving a frame more efficient. Using traditional lime timber as it is one of the softest woods to use which is sourced in the UK from FSC sustainable sources.
With the knowledge we posses of framing history and designs, we are able to create, or replicate frames from any time period.
Our Carved Frames
We have carved several frames, including the one to the left. This particular frame went to a client in Chicago and was hand carved, gilded and finally painted, the gold being only on the high spots.

It is known as a Sansovino frame. The term Sansovino refers to the architect and sculptor Jacopo Sansovino.
​
This is another example of a Sansovino shown in its unfinished carved state.
